Detroit, January, 7, 2016 – The Hospice of Michigan Institute will host a video webcast of “Managing Family Conflict/Finding Meaning – Supporting Families at Life’s End” for health care professionals in Michigan.
The event, which takes place Thursday, Jan. 28 from 12:30 to 3 p.m., will be offered at the following Hospice of Michigan offices:
- Detroit: 400 Mack Ave.
- Gaylord: 830 S. Otsego Ave.
- Grand Rapids: 989 Spaulding Ave. SE, Ada
- Saginaw: 3995 Fashion Square Blvd., Suite 1
This program addresses methods, strategies and practices that can be used to provide psychological, social and other types of support to terminally ill patients, their families and close networks. Particular emphasis will be placed on how to manage sources of conflict that often emerge near life’s end, as well as how to help individuals and families find meaning during a difficult time.
The session will begin with a streaming of the webcast, followed by a local panel discussion during the last half hour of the event.
Presented by the Hospice Foundation of America, this annual Living With Grief Program provides distance-learning opportunities to healthcare and hospice workers, educators, social workers, counselors, clergy, funeral directors and other professionals who assist adolescents coping with grief. This program provides an opportunity to share and exchange ideas and obtain 2.5 hours of continuing education credits.
