Stephen Ministry Network to host annual conference in Southfield

“Through Death to Life” author Ron Gries set to present

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (Oct. 9, 2017) – Stephen Ministry Network of Southeast Michigan is preparing to host its annual fall network conference from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4. The program will be held at St. John’s Armenian Church at 22001 Northwestern Highway in Southfield.

Sponsored by the Hospice of Michigan Institute, Adding Life to Days: The Final Journey – Spirituality, Grief, and End-of-Life Care will focus on the care of the human spirit at end-of-life, the grief journey, and end-of-life programs and concepts. The morning will feature presentations by Teri Turner, director of pediatrics & clinical excellence and Karen Monts, director of grief support services, both of Hospice of Michigan and Arbor Hospice. Author Ron Gries will discuss his book Through Death to Life in the afternoon, sharing the story of his journey through grief in the terminal stages of his wife Patty’s cancer diagnosis.

Attendees can expect to leave the conference with increased confidence in their ability to provide comfort in caring for those facing their final journey.
