New location, better fit for Hospice of Michigan Alpena office

ALPENA, Michigan, (Aug. 2, 2016)
On Aug. 3, Hospice of Michigan’s Alpena office will move to a new location at 145 N. State Ave., inside the Harborside Center, near the intersection of U.S. 23 Business and Chisholm Street. The new office maintains Hospice of Michigan’s presence in the heart of Alpena, in an easy-to-find location, less than a quarter mile from its previous location on Chisholm Street.

The new office provides Hospice of Michigan’s staff with private office space as well as a training space for meetings, grief support programming and volunteer use. A small conference room, shared kitchenette, restrooms and ample parking will also provide staff, volunteers and visitors with better accommodations to conduct grief support programs and other services for the community.

The nonprofit hospice organization has served Alpena since 1980.

“After 25 years on Chisholm Street, the location simply was no longer configured best for the work we do,” Sheri Reynolds, Hospice of Michigan operations manager for Alpena, said. “The new office is a smart use of space, and still in a spot that is easily accessible to the community we serve.”

“Our ‘office’ has always been at the bedside, providing excellent hospice care,” Bob Cahill, Hospice of Michigan president and CEO, said. “Our Alpena staff is happy to continue our mission at the new location in the Harborside Center.”

Hospice of Michigan is planning a community open house in the near future, date to be determined.
