Leave a Legacy During Make-a-Will Month

Leaving a legacy isn’t about the things you leave behind, but rather the impact you carry forward into the future. Every August, Make-a-Will Month serves as a great reminder that you can leave a legacy through creating or updating your will.

Creating or updating your will is a practical and important way to care for the people you love. It’s also an opportunity to reflect on the values that have guided your life, the causes that matter most to you, and the future impact your giving can make.

One of the simplest ways to carry your values forward is by including a charitable organization in your will or trust. At Hospice of Michigan, it is evident how generosity can change someone’s final chapter. Compassionate hospice care, grief support for families and specialized programs like integrative therapies or Gestures of Grace are made possible in part because of individuals who choose to include charitable giving in their estate plans.

No matter the size of the gift, including a charitable organization in your will is a lasting expression of the values and causes that matter most to you.

This Make-a-Will Month, consider creating or updating your will to care for the people you love while also leaving a legacy for future generations that need compassionate end-of-life care.
