Hospice of Michigan Presents A Hemingway-Inspired Evening in Paris, Havana, and Northern Michigan

Traverse City fundraiser will feature renowned author Philip Greene and local filmmaker Cat Muncey; proceeds to benefit the not-for-profit’s Open Access Program

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (Aug. 25, 2021) – Tickets are on sale for a night to remember filled with food, fun, and cocktails for a good cause. Join Hospice of Michigan for A Hemingway-Inspired Evening in Paris, Havana, and Northern Michigan at 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 24 at the City Opera House. The entertaining evening of storytelling featuring renowned author Philip Greene and local filmmaker Cat Muncey will benefit Hospice of Michigan’s Open Access Program.

During the evening, Greene will take participants on a historical journey through the life of Ernest Hemingway centered around the cocktails that he was so fond of, and which often wove their way into his literary works. Additionally, Muncey will give participants a glimpse of her new documentary detailing her mother’s end-of-life journey supported by Hospice of Michigan.

“The amazing impact of this fundraiser on the lives of our community members is what makes it all worth it,” said Michelle Gallagher, Hospice of Michigan philanthropy manager. “Attendees can enjoy a night filled with fun, entertainment and Hemingway-inspired cocktails knowing that they’re supporting their community, giving back and making a significant impact.”

Tickets are available through Friday, Sept. 17 at https://www.cityoperahouse.org/node/396 for $200 per person. Ticket price includes a strolling dinner and craft cocktails. The event is exclusive to those 21 and older, and attendees should dress in cocktail attire. All proceeds from the event will benefit Hospice of Michigan’s Open Access Program which ensures all who need end-of life care in Northwest Michigan and beyond have access to it, regardless of their age, diagnosis, or ability to pay.
