Hospice of Michigan volunteers receive extensive training tailored specifically to the area in which they wish to volunteer. The following outlines the training requirements for each volunteer option:

One (1) hour HOM 101 training
Community outreach volunteer only volunteer Four (4) hour basic HOM volunteer training Plus site specific training

Junior volunteer/non-patient care activities volunteer Four (4) hour basic HOM volunteer training Plus site specific training
Patient services volunter (adult or junior) volunteer Twelve (12) hour basic HOM volunteer training Shadowing opportunities AFTER the 12 hours of training
Grief support volunteer volunteer Twelve (12) hour basic HOM volunteer training Plus four (4) hours grief support companioning training
Speakers bureau volunteer volunteer Twelve (12) hour basic HOM volunteer training Plus four (4) hours SB training program
