Spiritual Care staff support patients and their families to help address the
physical, emotional and spiritual needs of people at the end of life. Staff are available to
help individuals deal with the questions that often arise during and after an impending loss,
such as Why me? Why must my loved one suffer? What can I leave behind as a memory of myself?
The importance of spiritual care differs from person to person. Some people
may find solace in the rituals and traditions of organized religion; others may need to
evaluate the meaning of their life and relationships or to come to terms with important issues.
Hospice of Michigan is not connected with any religious group. We respect the
cultural traditions of the diverse range of backgrounds of our patients.
Grief Support Groups and Memorial Services
Hospice of Michigan also offers special memorial services throughout the state in the fall and spring, as well as year-round grief support groups. To learn more, click here.
