Social Worker Helps Patient Who Had No Caregiver
The middle-aged man was referred to Hospice of Michigan by the hospital where he was receiving care for terminal cancer. He was single, unemployed due to his illness, and he didn’t have a caregiver. Out of touch with his only relative; he didn’t want him contacted. Too young for Medicare, he was uninsured. The only person looking out for him during his long bout with cancer was the owner of a business located in the building where he lived.
