Living with Grief: Diversity and End-of-Life Care

Hospice of Michigan is pleased once again to host the Hospice Foundation of America’s educational video teleconference. This year’s program will focus on ways of understanding diversity and how cultural histories, traditions and beliefs can affect end-of-life care. The program and companion book will offer participants a better understanding of the unique challenges which confront hospice care professionals who work with culturally diverse populations, and provide effective strategies for addressing their individual needs.

The teleconference is open to the community.

The program will be useful to a range of professionals who work with the bereaved and provides low-cost continuing education credits to nurses, social workers, physicians, funeral directors, counselors, clergy, EMS workers and others. Three continuing education contact hours (CEs) will be available. Verify CE availability with your professional or state board. There is a $25 online processing fee per certificate, per participant, or $35 via mail. There is a $10 charge for each additional certificate requested. Detailed CE instructions will be provided to participants at the event.
