Hospice of Michigan Offers Men and Grief Support Group

Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, March 29, 2016 – Hospice of Michigan will hold group meetings for men dealing with issues of grief.

The Men and Grief group will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on four consecutive Fridays — April 22 to May 13 — at Hospice of Michigan’s Bloomfield Hills office, 43097 Woodward Ave., Suite 102. The sessions, which will focus on the unique issues faced by men who have lost a loved one, will allow men to share insights, receive information about what to expect when grieving and learn specific strategies and coping skills for more effectively managing grief.

“Men often face unique challenges after losing a loved one,” said Bill Evans, group facilitator and grief support services manager for HOM. “Besides the general cultural expectation that men don’t cry and that they must not show their emotions when dealing with grief, falling into a depression or experiencing emotions such as unexpected anger may impact a man’s ability to move through his loss.”

There is no charge to attend the meetings, however advance registration is required.
