Health, Dental and Vision Plans
With three medical plans and two dental plans to choose from, Hospice of
Michigan offers excellent health, dental and vision plans that offer flexibility and choice.
Vision coverage is available through Vision Service Plan (VSP).
Life Insurance
HOM offers a life insurance policy to eligible employees equal to one times
their annual salary and also offers the option of purchasing additional insurance for
employees and their dependents.
Disability Insurance
HOM provides long-term disability insurance to eligible employees and also offers the option of purchasing short-term disability insurance at group rates.
403b Retirement Savings Plan
Hospice of Michigan has an excellent retirement savings plan that enables
employees to save for their future. Pre-tax contributions are subject to current maximum
limitations set by the IRS. Hospice of Michigan matches employee contributions up to 4%. In
addition, for eligible employees, we contribute 2% of annual earnings regardless of employee
participation. As an employee of Hospice of Michigan, you have the option to invest with
either ING (formerly Aetna) or Retirement Funding Services offering more than 60 funds to
choose from.
Flexible Spending Plan for Health and Dependent Care
Employees may elect to participate in our flexible spending program that
allows them to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for anticipated health care expenses and
dependent care. For example, employees with children in day care may elect to establish a
flexible spending account with as much as $5,000 per year in pre-tax income.
Tuition Reimbursement
Hospice of Michigan demonstrates its commitment to employee development and
continuous learning by offering a tuition reimbursement program to full-time employees for
approved courses of study. The annual tuition reimbursement amounts are $1,000/year for
undergraduate and $1,500/year for graduate courses.
Time Off
HOM understands the importance of balancing work life with home life, and has
a generous time-off policy for vacations, holidays, illness, family and personal needs.
Vacation time earned is dependent on employee status and does include part-time as well as
full-time employees.
Employee Assistance Plan
HOM understands that employees have a great deal of challenges to balance in
their lives. To help ensure that there is support available when staff members need it, HOM
offers an Employee Assistance Program (EAP). The program enables employees to receive
confidential, professional counseling services to help deal with personal, work and
family-related problems. EAP services are provided at free to employees.
